INES
An adaptation of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth set after a nuclear catastrophe, INES explores the relationship between voice and trauma in a composition for solo voices, choir, and orchestra. Based on the INES-scale, which is used to classify incidents in nuclear power plants, composer Ondřej Adámek and librettist and director Katharina Schmitt created their second joint work with INES. Between silence and deafening noise, nuclear winter and heat, glaring light and darkness, the characters in INES sing about human limits and the challenges of overcoming them.
