An adaptation of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth set after a nucelar catastrophe, INES explores relationships between voice and trauma in a composition for solo voices, choir and orchestra. Based on the INES scale, which is used to determine incidents in nuclear power plants, composer Ondřej Adámek and librettist and director Katharina Schmitt develop with INES, their second joint work. Between silence and deafening noise, nuclear winter and heat, glaring light and darkness, the characters in INES sing about human limits and the difficulties of overcoming them.
